INTRODUCING THE RAG!
This was the cleaning tool of choice before the paper industry needed somewhere to dump their low-grade paper fiber in the early 1920s. Our society was lulled into thinking that “disposable” paper towels were superior to the tried and true. A century later, let’s do a comparison:

The only paper towels we use in our household are the 3 rolls we have left since we converted to using just cleaning rags from old towels, sheets and clothining. Those rolls are reserved for the horribly, very nasty clean-ups like dog barf etc. Luckily those are few and far between. Needless to say, our paper towel consumption is now close to zero.
