Going with Greta: an In-Depth View of the Climate Crisis and the Young Activist

If you haven’t tuned in yet to the recent PBS documentary Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World” make sure to put it on your viewing list.  I do a fair job of keeping up on climate change but this 3 segment production not only got me up to speed on the latest science but gave me a more in-depth look at Greta Thunberg, the leading climate activist. We join Greta, now 18, on travels with her father in Canada and the W. United States interviewing scientists studying glaciers and forests then on to converse with people from communities impacted by climate change from Paradise, California to reindeer herders in N. Finland.  She visits the tar sands mines in Canada and interviews coal workers in Poland whose jobs are on the line.  All this includes an account of her 10-day voyage on stormy seas back across the Atantic on a catamaran to attend a summit on climate change

Equally fascinating is a look behind the scenes at Greta who started this all at age 15, her intelligence, dedication, modesty, bravery, and most of all her pluck at her ability to unflinchingly stand up to world leaders on their failure to act (all the while dealing with autism).  You won’t be disappointed.
